last year we had Ada, Mathematica, C++, Rust, but not much Python that I remember. OTOH, Python is incredibly popular in general and in other places, like the subreddit, so you'll get instant feedback and lots of different ways to accomplish the puzzles, to compare your own work to, so learning Python through Advent of Code sounds like it'd be pretty effective.
