He's one of those "philosophical" poet that is neither poetic nor philosophical, who likes to write superficial aphorism that looks highbrow. As for Celan's poems I felt the same. They made me sick, but not in the sense of boredom. It reads sick, but not in a good way. Best: Catullus (the best), Elitis, Trakl, Rimbaud (though VERY flawed it is raw and true), Lautreamont, Hoelderlin (for his violent, stark, epic language, but not for the content, "meaning", of the poems),...
